Please make sure it is an item that you can part with, is of no historical or monetary value, is clean and rust-free, and does not have
any sharp edges or frayed wires.  We appreciate it if you could simply start setting these items aside.  In mid-January we will be
putting out a box in the church narthex and upper grade classroom to deposit your "odds and ends."  Please wait until January to
avoid having too many things being collected, etc., during the busy holiday seasons.
Thanks for your help!!

Teacher's Conference was GREAT!
Our Ohio District Lutheran Teachers' conference was held at the Embassy Suites in Dublin.  The two-day event was excellent.
Pastor Bill Yonker, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee, IL, was one of the keynote presenters.  He was so energetic!
We laughed so hard our ribs hurt, but in the next minute he had us almost in tears.  We were all so glad to have been able to hear
him.
Another keynote speaker was Jeff Smith from Salt and Light Ministry in Virginia.  He is a Christian dramatist and has received
several awards for his writings.  He was challenging us to tell the "Old, Old Story in a New, New Way."  We don't think we could be
exactly like him, but it gave us a lot to think about in telling our Bible stories.
The sectionals were very worthwhile, and we are so glad we went!
Congratulations to Lisa Kunze who is now the secretary for the school committee for the Ohio District Conference.  (Many thanks to
Chris Dellinger for serving in this position for the past few years.)  Also Lois Vollrath was appointed to the LPDC (Local Professional
Development Committee.)  We're proud of our teachers who serve at the District level.

Heaven is a Wonderful Place
When we read Revelations 21, we are given a beautiful picture of heaven.  Upper grade students wrote news
articles/advertisements that were designed to tell readers about what heaven is like.

Here are a few:
Emma Lash - 5th Grade
Quick, Quick, Quick, come hear what heaven is like!  There will be gold roads, 12 gates made of pearls.  There will be no more
death, mourning, pain, or crying.  You will be like a lamb in golden pasture.  Up there, there will be everything you can imagine.  You
will get to heaven if you believe in Jesus as your Savior.  God won't turn down any believer who wants to go to heaven.  I know I'm
going there.  I hope you do too.

Caleb Eickhoff - 6th Grade
Heaven is a great place where there is no pain, no crying, and no death.  I can't wait to get to heaven and I want you there with me.
Just believe and you will be saved.  Believe that Christ died for us.

Megan Marshall - 7th Grade
Come to Heaven and see paradise.  See the streets paved of gold.  See walls made of jasper.  Be greeted by 12 beautiful angels
guarding gates made of one single pearl!  See the jeweled foundations.
There is an unlimited number of rooms available.
Cost:  Already paid by Jesus Christ when he died on the cross to forgive our sins.  (See John 3:16)
